ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A WAY TO DO SOME VOLUNTEERING OR COMMUNITY SERVICE?

Saco Meals Program could use your help!!!

We are always in need of volunteers!!   There are opportunities to help on Monday and Thursday early evenings and on Monday early morning.  You can volunteer for a just an hour or longer if you prefer.  Our current volunteers range from young teens to young seniors. 

CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Monday early mornings (7:15-8:00 am):
    • Assist with unloading, sorting, and storing deliveries received from Good Shepherd Food Bank and Shaw’s
  • Tuesday Mornings (10:00 – 2:00 pm)
    • Cleaning Team meets to sanitize kitchen including all work surfaces and appliances
  • Monday & Thursday Afternoons: (4:15 pm -6pm)
        • Help clean up kitchen areas
        • Assist running commercial dishwasher for plates, bowls, mugs, utensils
        • Assist with washing pots and pans in kitchen

IMPORTANT POSITION WE ARE LOOKING TO FILL

Thursday  Co-Coordinator  (12pm – 6pm)– This is a critical position in the program. Key tasks include supervising and assisting volunteers, coordinating with cooks, and overseeing the preparation and serving of the meal. Will interface directly with Program Manager. Perfect for a new retiree or someone looking for a rewarding volunteer experience and has one afternoon a week to help out. Training and Assistance will be provided.
